PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 13, 2002 - The Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists invites you to an evening of art, music and book readings, along with good food and fun during its second annual Artists Among Us: A Celebration of Journalists in the Arts.
The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at the African American Museum in Philadelphia, 701 Arch Street (Seventh and Arch Streets).
Journalists, photographers, authors and other media professionals will be on hand to sell their works and discuss their artistry with the public.
Guests will have the opportunity to
view the museum's current exhibits: "Dolls To Remember," featuring
selected works from the Brown Sugar & Spice Collection of
Dr. Regenia A. Perry in cooperation with The Philadelphia Doll Museum,
and "4 Artists of Distinction: Barbara Bullock, Charles Burwell,
James Dupree and Martina Johnson-Allen."
Admission to Artists Among Us is $5, and the event is open to the general public. Proceeds will go to the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists scholarship fund, which awards two $500 scholarships annually to high school students interested in becoming journalists.
PABJ is still accepting registrations of media professionals who would like to participate.
