2010 Annual Awards

The Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists honored a slate of exceptional journalists and community leaders at its 5th Annual Awards Ceremony on Saturday, June 12, 2010, in the Great Hall at CBS3 Studios, 1555 Hamilton St., Philadelphia.

The Trailblazer award was presented to Harold Jackson, editorial page editor at The Philadelphia Inquirer. Elizabeth Wellington, style columnist for The Inquirer, was named Journalist of the Year. Photographer Jack T. Franklin was honored posthumously for Lifetime Achievement. Radio broadcaster Thera Martin Connelly received the Community Service award.

PABJ scholarships were awarded to Queen Muse, a junior journalism major at La Salle University, and Jordan Pringle, a senior at Pennsauken High School.

PABJ President Sarah Glover recognized the contributions of two journalists with the President’s Award: Michael Days, editor of the Philadelphia Daily News, and Cesar Aldama, news director at CBS4 News in Miami.
