To Present "Artists Among Us: A Celebration of Journalists"
PHILADELPHIA,
Pa. -- The Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists is pleased to
present Artists Among Us: A Celebration of Journalists on Wed.,
Dec. 5, 2001, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Bluezette's, 246 Market St.,
in Old City.
Artists
Among Us will
showcase the finest artistic endeavors of journalists who are also talented
authors, photographers, painters and craftspeople. The journalists will
be on hand to meet, greet and sell their works. Featured artists include
award-winning Philadelphia Inquirer photographer Ron Tarver; fashion columnist
Cheryl Wadlington; Philadelphia Weekly reporter Solomon Jones, author
of "Pipe Dream," and former Inquirer reporter Karen Quinones
Miller, author of "Satin Doll."
Other journalists displaying works include Sarah Glover, a photographer
at The Inquirer; Mister Mann Frisby, an aspiring novelist who is a former
reporter at the Philadelphia Daily News; Donald Hunt, a sports writer
for the Philadelphia Tribune and John Smallwood, a sports columnist for
the Daily News.
