Ron TarverRon Tarver is a photographer with the Philadelphia Inquirer. His works can be found in the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Smithsonian National Museum of American Art in Washington, and the State Museum in Harrisburg. Corporate collections include the Banana Republic, Johnson and Johnson, and the Hyatt and Sheraton Hotels. He is represented by the Sande Webster Gallery in Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia, and the Monique Goldstrom Gallery in Soho, N.Y.

Karen MillerKaren E. Quinones Miller is a former reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer. Miller, a member of the Philadelphia Black Writers Group, wrote her first book, "Satin Doll," in only two months in early 1999. After unsuccessfully trying to find a publisher for the novel, she self-published it in December 1999, selling more than 24,000 copies in eight months. The publishing rights to "Satin Doll" were sold at a publishing auction, and Simon and Schuster acquired the rights. The novel was re-released in July. Her new book, "I'm Telling," will be in bookstores in August 2002.

 

Sarah GloverSarah J. Glover is a Philadelphia Inquirer photographer. Glover serves as a regional director of the National Association of Black Journalists, representing journalists in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Glover has freelanced for the Associated Press, the Smithsonian Institution and the WK Kellogg Foundation. In 2000, she became the first woman to win the National Association of Black Journalists' Visual Task Force Moneta J. Sleet Jr. Award. She has started an independent photography education project entitled, "each1teach1. She is working on a project that celebrates size and shape, diversity and beauty.

Solomon JonesSolomon Jones is a staff writer for Philadelphia Weekly. His first novel, "Pipe Dream," was published by Random House in July 2001. A veteran journalist who began writing professionally since 1993, Jones has been published in the Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia magazine and the Philadelphia Tribune. He has made guest appearances on BBC Radio Five Live, Philly After Midnight, Sunday Morning Live and Comcast Newsmakers, and local radio stations.
