"Shattering
the Peace:
Understanding
the Roots of the Sept. 11 Attacks"
PHILADELPHIA -- A month after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon, Americans are still trying to figure out the root of such intense anger toward their country. They are also still seeking to learn as much as they can about Islam.
To try to answer these questions, PABJ has invited three scholars to discuss the topic during its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m., Nov. 13, 2001, in the first-floor Human Resources conference room at the Philadelphia Inquirer/Daily News building, 400 N. Broad St.
The guest panelists are Chieke Ihejirika, professor of political science and international relations at Lincoln University; Iman Shamsud-din Ali, spokesman for the Majlis Ash-Shura of Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley, and Rafiq Kalam Id-din, administrative assistant to Masjid Al-Mujahideen.
The moderator is Christopher Ridenhour, host of "Philly Live: The African American Connection" on WYBE-TV, Channel 35.
The
event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Al
Hunter at 215-854-5855.
