PHILADELPHIA,
Nov. 29, 2001 -- The Philadelphia Association of Black
Journalists today donated $100 to the Siani Lee Memorial Fund as a show
of sympathy on her untimely death and appreciation for the community work
for which she will be remembered.
Ms. Lee, 39, a reporter/anchor for KYW-TV 3, was killed in a traffic accident in Chester County on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001.
Ms. Lee made a name for herself in her chosen field as well as in the community. Proceeds from the Siani Lee Memorial Fund will be distributed to her favorite charities, including MANNA, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation's Race for the Cure, and Peter Nero and the Philly Pops' Jazz In The Schools program.
A graduate of Hampton University, she joined KYW-TV as an anchor and reporter in 1999. She co-anchored with Larry Kane on Eyewitness News at 6 p.m. and was the featured reporter for the consumer series Eye On Money. Before coming to Philadelphia, she worked in Norfolk, Va., Savannah, Ga., Baltimore and Washington.
PABJ grieves with her family and mourns their loss. For more information regarding the contribution, contact PABJ president Sherry Howard.
