Program: In 1827, in New York City, Samuel E. Cornish and John B. Russwurm published Freedom's Journal, America's first black-owned and operated newspaper. This is a celebration of their accomplishments.
"Freedom's Voices" will feature
three panels:
I. "Honoring Our Pioneers: Black
Voices Write Freedom"
II. "Cut from the Same Cloth: Black
Journalists in the Black Press and the Mainstream Media"
III. "Impact: The Black Voice in Modern Media"
Panelists: We have an impressive list of panelists.

May 4 Evening Affair
The New York ABJ will sponsor its
First Annual Reunion Benefit and Trailblazer Awards from
