Requirements: Students must write two 500-word essays, and submit three letters of references, two writing samples and a high school transcript.

PABJ scholarship information: PABJ awards one $500 scholarship to a minority student who performs exemplary work during the workshop. The student must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or C+ as displayed by a copy of their transcript, and must provide proof of acceptance to an accredited four-year college or university in the United States. The PABJ scholarship is open to any high school student of African American heritage attending a public or private school in Philadelphia.
